Google results fluctuating between UK and Spain for US based search

I just noticed that, sometime within the last 2-3 hours, when I search for something on Google, I am receiving UK results (from the US), Spanish results....fluctuates if I go to www.google.com (sends me directly to .es), if I select to go to google.com sends me to UK results, fluctuates if I use the search toolbar, also changes depending on FF or IE - I am getting sent all over the place! Anyone else observing this?

No responses - so I assume this is something local to you. Has the problem cleared up?

I am getting UK results mixed in with US results too in my niche and I am from the US. It has been happening since October 31st.

Yes, but in this case, p5gal5 said "if I go to www.google.com (sends me directly to .es)" That's a bit more extreme than seeing some UK sites in the search results.

Presumably G thinks that p5gal5 is in Spain or possibly another Spanish speaking country. This could be a mistake or the maybe he/she is using a private network which is connecting to the net outside of the USA.

When I review DNS and IP address settings, everything indicates US - this is a home connection with a major ISP. Everything is fine back at the office, so hopefully G will hear my plea/complaint about being misrouted wherever it feels like. SERPs on the misrounted UK connection are *completely* different than either .com or .co.uk normally are...it's just very, very odd.

Glad to hear this isn't indicative of a larger problem - not being able to check on work from home isn't SUCH a bad thing (but not being able to properly-use G might prove troublesome, though).

Have you tried deleting cookies?

I've been moaning about something similar for quite sometime.

Doing a search on Google.com, from Toronto, produces 8 UK sites out of the first 10 results.

Despite sending in reports of this going back to Jan last year, the problem remains. I guess Google doesn't think this is a problem...

Tedster, true.

Marketingmagic, I've been sending reports too and still 2 to 4 listings out of the first 10 results are UK.

But again we're not just talking about seeing oddball domains in the SERPs, somehow weighted to another country. This thread is about being automatically redirected to google.es when you start out requesting google.com.

I can't help but wonder about the IP that your ISP is using. I can't think of anything else if you have deleted all your cookies - except just maybe you're signed into someone else's Google account?
