Will 404s after site redesign affect Google rankings?

Hi ,

I redesigned my site and now im getting quite a few url not found .

Will this have an effect on my rankings in google ?

The reason I ask as the number of pages that have been indexed has seemed to drop ?

Im also not getting shown November search queries under Top Search queries ?

Google ranks urls, not "pages" or "content". So when you change urls there is definitely a period where Google sorts things out. Did you check your old urls for backlinks and make sure to 301 redirect those urls to similar content on the new version of your site?
