We have a client who have a domain name which is spelt in a slightly unexpected way which means that many clients search for them using the wrong spelling. As an example Googgle (spelt with two g's in the middle).

They are quite large so have now I have purchased the correct spelling on their behalf. It does not actually rank for the term as it has had a sedo page on it otherwise I'd do a 302.

What would you suggest is the best thing to do with it?

301 redirect it to a page on the site which uses that version of the spelling + build some links using the spelling?
301 to the home page and add some links using the spelling.

well...
id suggest this....
move the entire site from wrong speling to correct spelling and 301 each page from wrong speling to the correct one.

If the wrong spelling ranking is not transfered to the right spelling one, then the domain could have been penalised, file a re-inclusion request.

I am asssuming that the new domain is an exact match for the keyword you want to rank for. In which case I would create a 1 page site add a couple of links to it ( not from your main site ) . Once its ranking for the term then do a 301 to your main site.
