Subdomain naming suggestions?

Anyone offer any advice... I have a <widget> website that is predominantly for <widget> purchases in one particular city. The word "widgets" is IN the main domain name but the word "Cityname" is not. I have to set up a subdomain for the actual purchase of <widgets> (with other widget information)....

Suggestions for the subdomain name... should I just use "Cityname" or IF I use "CitynameWidgets" will I be penalised for spamming of the word "Widgets" as it would be used in the sub-domain name as well as the main domain name?

Use the cityname as it will be cityname.widgets.com don't put the city name with widgets as it just to much.
