Hi,

Just a quick question, for few months now my homepage pagerank was 2 and all my subpages had PR 1 , recently i decided to update all my pages from xhtml1-transitional.dtd to xhtml1-strict.dtd and validate all my pages with no problems, but after few days i lost PR for my homepage from 2 down to 1 and all my subpages from 1 went donw to 0.

You think that this loss of PR has to do with the recent update of my pages from xhtml1-transitional.dtd xhtml1-strict.dtd ?

( The only backlinks i have for my website are from 9 directories and 4 social bookmarking websites other than that my website havent lost any ranking for my main keywords and i keep show in the first page for my domain name keyword )

Thanks in advance

George

If you're talking about toolbar PR, then it's probably not related to your updates. See [webmasterworld.com...]

Since you say that you haven't lost your ranking, there's not much to worry about.

Depending on the directories, this doesn't sound like a very stable linking or PageRank situation. You need to expand your inbound link universe to some stable links from high quality sites in your market or subject-matter area. This generally requires some good content (eg, information, free tools, or other features) that's going to attract solid inbound links.
