G Webmaster Tools: is there a delay in reporting accurate data?

In using Google's Webmaster Tools, in the Overview section I've noticed that our home page crawl report date seems to be lagging behind; in so much as follows:

On 08-25-08 home page was last crawled on 08-13-08.
On 08-26-08 home page was last crawled on 08-18-08.

Is it really taking Google 8 days to report to Webmaster Central that they've crawled the home page? 8 days = 18th til the 26th.

Is anyone else seeing this? Or is it just me?

WT does not deliver 'real time' results.

I think a few days is 'normal', but someone may have better info.

If you need quicker stats, your own server logs will do much better, and if you compare them with WT over a period, you can 'guesstimate' the effects of WT's more sophisticated filters.

Easier just to wait a few days, though ;)

Looks like weekly updates - in the past it was even less frequent.

Thanks for the info, in such short order. In analyzing the log files, what would be the best tool for the money.................FREE, if possible?

I personally like Webalizer, but AWStats are very good too - they are both free and there are plenty of other log analysers around - just run a few relevant searches for it.
