Thousands of URLs not indexed - What to do?

I have no motivation for adding new quality content because my pages are ignored by Google. It never updates the indexed page value.

What is the point of a search engine that ignores all my pages but crawls like hell?

Step #1 - find out why your pages are being ignored. Clearly, many websites are not being ignored, and this forum is full of helpful discussions. It's much better to be taking action than to be stuck in a mood of complaint. That won't change a thing.

ATWeb, have you signed up with Google Webmaster Tools? You can submit a sitemap to them via this tool set and get valuable feedback from them.

Maybe you can open up a bit more on what you've done since there isn't enough information in your posts to be precise in responding.

Since you appear to have a fairly large site, the first thing I'd be looking at is your architecture.

Hot Topics [webmasterworld.com...] and duplicate content is a good place to start . Also , what links have put into the site.

How old is the site and what have you done to it ?

Checking off some of the basics may be helpful.

In a conference I heard Matt Cutts say, [not a quote, but hopefully close enough ], the amount of pages indexed of a site is determined by the inbound link weight to the site.

That's enough for a whole new thread - also , my hunch is , that I believe I'm seeing this.
