Moving .net to .co.uk

We have an oldish B2B site on a .co.uk domain, and a B2C site on the equivalent newish (<12 months) .net domain. Both are in the same industry sector, same company details etc. All our customers are UK based.

The .net domain is being indexed, more or less, though not making great waves in the serps, and we don't have that much need for the .co.uk B2B site anymore. Neither produce significant organic traffic to be that much of an issue if they drop off for a while.

My question - we're about to move from a US host to a UK one for a location advantage. What's the best way (if you think it's a good idea..) for us to begin using the .co.uk domain for what is currently our .net site? Or in the experience of those here is the difference between .net and .co.uk not worth the hassle?

Thanks in advance as always.
