Google Maps freezes my PC

This is weird, but lately the Google Maps are overtaking my computer with virus like symptoms. Today maps even froze up my Zone Ala..., when I tried to clean cache while PC slowed to the crawl.

This is very strange because I have not had any problems with G Maps ever before and it seems like only G Maps would do this to my PC.

Does anyone have similar problem?

If you've changed any kind of security on your computer that involves javascript, you may be interfering with Google Maps. Here's a troubleshooting page from Google that might offer a clue or two:

Do you have Skype recently installed, are you using Firefox? I found that combination deadly and have had to exit Skype to see maps and stop Firefox taking the entire 3Gb of memory I so lovingly installed.
