PageRank Update July 2008... The green bar is moving!

Its morning in my part of the world. But I am not seeing any change as yet - also tried some PR checkers without luck.

Can anybody tell which DC/DCs are showing the new greens?

This is a bit off topic, but going to ask anyway.

Is it possible for a site's index page that shows just a white bar for toolbar page rank to actually have a higher "internal" pagerank than a site whose index page shows a toolbar pagerank of 2 or 3?

White bar means "more than zero, less than one". So, at the time the data was exported, the answer is no. However, one or two months later, the white bar might have no accuracy at all and the "real PR" for that page could be better than a PR2 or PR3 page.

Seems a little glitchy right now. If you click on a link to a page and the TB looks greyed out (when it shouldn't be), try clicking on the link again.

I've recently seen a site that had a page rank 2 in firefox and no pagerank in IE- has anyone experienced this? Which is more likely to be the correct pagerank?

The interesting part is here,on Matt Cutts blog:
"I’m expecting that also in the next few days that we’ll be expiring some older penalties on websites."

So,time for penalties have any connections with PR update time ?I do not think so.
Probably they are erasing some penalties to give a chance for "collateral damages" websites ? This will be a good thing.

Maybe it's not the timing of penalties and updates, but there might be some penalties that do have something to do with displayed TBPR, so this one will be interesting to watch. And also interesting will be to see what's discussed by people who experience and see penalties lifted.

My guess (based on translating Mattspeak) is that it's no accident that the two were mentioned together when usually there's no advance notice of TB updates.

Someone's got something up their sleeve if there was a point made of announcing this in advance.

I am now seeing new toolbar page rank on google.com in California. Most of my sites seem to have lost one point across the board.

seems that the system got rid of signals that showed a lot of false positives.
'penalties' will be lifted where TBPR was lowered even though the site was clean.

I've seen this during the last TBPR update on many pages ( including on some of my own ).
The timing makes sense. if you're paranoid you don't want people reverse-engineering the script, better 'lift' the 'penalties' while scores for all pages are on the move anyway. if you're not paranoid just lazy, you simply won't bother exporting the revised data anytime sooner.

Seeing a whitebar on pages launched 3 weeks ago, so it is happening for me too.

Minus one accross the board for index pages here too, despite breaking records for traffic month after month.

However... LOADS of internal pages now carry the same weight as the index page.

Several internal pages outrank the index page.

It 'feels' like something has changed, not sure what yet.

Alot of new sites got the green boost! Many sites dropped by 1.

A nearly 10 xears old quality site with thousands of organic inbounds went down to 2 and a fresh site with a bunch of links went from 0 to 2.

So good stuff went down, weak stuff went up or remained.
