Hi,

I am new and not sure where should I post this.

I have 2 sites gotten deindex by google. both are new sites but does well in terms of traffic from search results.

Any idea why they do that? My other sites have average traffic by are safe from the hands of google(at least for now).

Any idea how long it will take before they get index again?

Personally, I do suspect that becoz its quite a new site and the traffic is high, thats why it got flag and deindex. Possible?

Hello ican, and welcome to the forums.

Google's been doing this to most new sites for quite a while. In the early days of the "Google Sandbox", after the first rankings disappeared, it could take half a year or more for rankings to grow back. Today it can be quicker - especially if other people are noticing the new site and linking to it.

I have always thought it's a kind of test period - just in case the site is going to take off really fast. In that case, the early good rankings (I called it the honeymoon period) don't disappear. But in most cases, after that short period the rankings do fall away and the site needs to build itself up over a period of time.

If you are new to SEO probably a good start would be to ensure that your sites are correctly built for Google indexing purposes.

Try Hot Topics over here : [webmasterworld.com...] with particular emphasis on the basics and duplicate content [ which can evolve into being quite complex to manage ].

The other step would be to sign up for Google Webmaster Tools [google.com...] where there is a continuing health check on web sites which can help you to start building insight into managing your new sites.

Hi Tedster,

Does that means that I just need to continue building backlinks and wait it out for 3 - 6 months and they will go back on google?

Whitey,

I've got webmasters for all my sites. Is tracking it right now. Thanks!

Yes, if you continue to attract backlinks and improve your website, then you should see those early rankings gradually return. That's a common experience, at least. Of course many other things can get into the mix and sometimes cause problems - that's what we discuss here so very much.

I am not even sure that you need 3-6 months. Even with a handful of good links your site can rank within a matter of days.

2 sites gotten deindex by google

Have these gotten completely dropped from the Google index, or have they just dropped in rankings?

Again, the Hot Topics [webmasterworld.com] section, pinned to the top of the Google Search forum home page, contains some helpful information. Look at the Penalities, Sandbox, and Trust section, and read these threads, which may help you determine the nature of your problem....

Good Early Rankings [webmasterworld.com] - but they disappear *added June 08

Am I Penalized? [webmasterworld.com] - what type of penalty do I have?

Does that means that I just need to continue building backlinks and wait it out for 3 - 6 months and they will go back on google?

That depends in part on whether you've been penalized. In general, backlinks will help, but how much they will help depends on where your backlinks are from and how unique your content is. You mention that you have other sites. If they are all on the same subject, very similar to each other, and you're crosslinking them a lot to provide linking, that might create a problem in itself.

Create good content, and then get good quality backlinks from independent sources to your new sites.

Hi Robert,

It was completely dropped from google, not drop in ranking. They completely disappear from google search engine.

I will take a look at the rest of the forum and see how it goes. Thanks!
