If you are certain nothing is wrong with your site(s) and you are still being "penalised", what will you do next/recommend to clients/suggest?
Insofar as Google.co.uk is concerned I have recommended to my clients that the UK hosted .com brochure site be reconstructed on a .co.uk name.
I am not recommending a 301 for it until the new site is established.
What are you/your clients considering?
It's always good to diversify, and not to depend on one source for business survival. But Google organic search is such a driver that it can be difficult to pay attention to diversifying when there's no urgency. These latest changes have certainly brought that urgency to some web businesses.
- never assume it's a Google's problem , sitting back may not help
- accept Google for what it is - an unsustainable business source [ in the context of a business exists upon it's sustainability only ; otherwise you don't have a business
- do all you can to diversify away from SEO [ not easy when you've been tempted by it's success' and become reliant on it]
- rock up to the Google plex in thousands with banners demanding effective communication with Google [ seriously , keep encouraging our good friends at G to improve methods of communication so that we can be better at supplying the content they want and the exposure that siteowners want ]
