Add power to filetype operator, how to order by size?

Is there any hack to do a search like this:

-widgets filetype:xls- and order them by size DESC ?

Any help appreciated.

You've got me scratching my head on this one. From what I can see, file size is not predictably included in the filetype: searches I've tried.

I was hoping that the O'Reilly book Google Hacks [oreilly.com] might offer at least a clue - but so far I can't find my copy to check. The link goes to the books TOC on oreilly.com, but so far no joy.

As far as I'm aware, Google doesn't include the filesize of 'offline' formats like MS Office files, so I don't see a way you're going to be able to do this with Google.
