Can Pagination of Content Help Ranking on Google?

I am considering using pagination of my website pages. I have many items for my section pages and want to break them up to 24 items per page.

I want to know if pagination of your website can help with google search engine rank? Or makes no difference at all?

I have called a couple of companies who provide this service and I have gotten different answers.

Aside from your page loading faster is there any seo benefits associated with pagination in regards to Google search engine. If so, what are they?

If you paginate your content you need to have unique titles and descriptions on every page or it won't do any good. Your "new" pages will probably get caught in a duplicate content filter.
