Hi all, today my website just got some updates on the crawl stats page. My problem is, it doesn't show exactly what pagerank i have but give me some table like this:

The PageRank of your pages in Google Distribution

High

Medium

Low

Not yet assigned

Most of my urls are in low, some may or may not may be in the medium or high section (it shows that there is but i don't know).

Can someone explain to me What pagerank Low,Medium,High mean.(so like, is Low = PR of 1-3)

I've tried some pagerank checkers but did not receive anything that would actually tell me if i had a pagerank of 0 or higher.

Just to clarify, i'm Not asking what PR means but what pagerank does Low, medium and high Equal to.

thanks in advance.

Hi,
so far I would not take these metrics into considerations at all. Some of our websites are PR6, all deep pages not lower tha PR5 with thousands of links... still the website is considered as a LOW in this report completely.

"so far I would not take these metrics into considerations"

I have heard the opposite, the PR in the toolbar is just cosmetic, the "more" accurate report is in tools.

Yes , the real reports are in the webmasters tools.

OK, if the "real reports" are in the webmaster tools, what is the scale then? Is PR5-6 considered to be LOW pagerank page then? Is PR7-8 MEDIUM? :))

I do not take those reports for granted - since G does not want us to know more about it. Similar goes to their link reports there - counting all links /incl. nofollowed or already not valid/.

Don't rise to the Google bait. PR was a silly game that most people have now rumbled means nothing. So "page rank" is just the latest version of it.

I would advise not to worry about what "most people" say. While PageRank may not mean what many people THINK it means, it does have meaning and a place in the Google algorithm. Check out this discussion from the beginning of the year: [webmasterworld.com...]

I also find the Webmaster Tools PR reporting quite inscrutable. Many people have asked Google for something more substantial about PR in their GWT account, and I hope that happens. Even for sites I work on that have PR8 home pages, the Low-Medium-High reporting doesn't communicate much that is useful for me.

Thanks for all the replies but i still do not get how i can check my pagerank for 100% sure on what it is.

liborson, Thanks for your answer, it does help a little bit knowing that my PR might not be tooo low after all but still my website does not have alot of links to it so i should be happy with a PR of 1 or 2.

And nomis5, maybe it is that way but do you think a website will link to my one if it's PR0, it might do but if it see's i've got some pagerank like PR1 or 2 then the chances are greater so that will mean more traffic.I've also heard that the more PR you have, the more googlebot will be on your website so faster indexing etc etc and since i'm no where in the search engine results yet except writing my website's name and afew others, i have to optimise and get more links anyway.

The toolbar is the best you can get - and that's a snapshot frozen in time four times a year. You're right that, unfortunately, some people will not link to a low PR page. That's silly, IMO - the best webmasters will link to pages that are good for their users to know about.

Well, it's not really predictable or on any kind of schedule. The most recent update was at the very end of April - beginninng of May. So on average, I wouldn't look for another update until at least the end of July or into August.
