Search term in snippet but not in cache?

There was some personal data on a webpage I had no control over, which I have had them delete, so the data is no longer on the page.

However, searches for this data still show it in the SERP snippet.

When looking at the cache of the page the data is also not there, but is included after this indication from Google...

"These terms only appear in links pointing to this page"

Why would the snippet not be updated for this SERP/page, if the cache has already been updated for the last 2 weeks, and I've seen 2 different cache versions (according to the date)?

I have also seen a delay in the actual cache compared to what you see in the snippet. I am no expert on this but I am assuming that the two sets of data sit on different servers and there is a time delay. At the same time, if someone puts a link to your website with "anchor link" it does not matter what you do -- it will always show a hit.

There's no anchor text for this term, and I wouldn't mind it showing a hit anyway, as long as the data itself doesn't show up in any way - on the page, in the cache or in the snippet.

As it is, the snippet shows the data for all to see.

I also assumed that it was a question of different data centers for the snippet and the cache - I suppose I'll just have to wait for data center synchronization.
