Hi
I have a blog which is 1.5 year old with pretty decents stats. I have good traffic from Search engines as well. Now coming to my problem- My blog's latest posts are not getting indexed by Google, but at the same time its indexing my Home page regularly. This started happening from June 7th. Posts till June 6th are indexed.
I tried re submitting the sitemap using the Webmasters tool, but no luck.

Anyone facing this situation? Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Hello Nirmal, and welcome to the forums.

That kind of thing can be a puzzle. Do you have access to your server logs? I'd start by looking at googlebot requests and your server responses. Webmaster Tools may also give you some useful input.

Hi Tedster,
I do have access to few logs and it shows visits by Google bot. Yesterday few other pages after June 7th were indexed, but its not in proper order, some are indexed while some posts are not. But home page is indexed regularly.

Could the other posts have gone to supplemental index?

Same thing happened to me. I don't remember the exact date when it started but it was this month. Also, this is not the first time this has happened to me. The first two times got solved, but I can't figure out how.

Here's my discussion with tedster on the matter: [webmasterworld.com...]

Maybe we can put them together and figure out an answer.

It doesn't actually stop indexing. It just takes more time to appear in the results. Try to search the different datacenters.

Also review Mr. G's webmaster guidelines and see if you're braking any of them.

I have a similar problem. New pages uploaded to my site this month were not being indexed for a good number of weeks. About three days ago, most of them suddnly appeared in the index with their indexing times noted in the results.

Suddenly yesterday, those new pages disappeared as if an old database had been substituted. I'm now back to where I was at the begining of the month. Disturbing.

@Zerillos,
I did a quick research on my posts. Its getting indexed exactly after a week. Now posts upto June 15 are indexed. Not sure what exactly is the reason.

@Wellington,
Same happened with me also. two of my recent posts were indexed, but now I cant see it, it disappeared.

Keep pinging new posts to appropriate services (eg. technorati)

This happened to a site of mine recently - no pages being added to the index for 15 days. All back to normal in 15 days.

I have another site where posts have not been indexed for 5 days now.

Its maddening, but I dont think there is anything to worry in the long term. But if you HAVE to rank in the short term or were counting on indexed pages and searches right now....

I had this same problem recently, weeks with no new posts indexed and the Adsense ads on these posts remaining untargeted. The absence of Google's bots in my logs and "URL unreachable errors" in Google Webmaster Tools revealed the cause, my web host (a major one) was blocking/limiting crawling by Google's bots because their oversold shared hosting servers were overloaded. A switch to a new web host fixed the problem.
