The last 4 days I have seen some major changes in the image rankings and "moderate search on" filter, I will say 100% to the better, I dont see so many other domains in a site:example.com search, still there are some.

I have seen such changes before where it all later in update all came back to pre update, means 90% is filtered out again without any reason, so I will not say yet, that the google image search has improved there "moderate filter on" system.

That sounds like a happy change, zeus. Still the "90% filtered out" doesn't sound so happy. I can see that Google might be a lot more sensitive in the area of potentially adult images compared to potentially adult text, but if you're essentially locked out, that's no fun.

Yes it really looks good for now I have about 5000 images show up with moderated filter on and 8000 with filter off.

I will say this there is no nude stuff on my site, BUT the change for now has gone from 80 images to 3000- 5000 images so its looking good, I will again say "for now" be cause I have seen once that a few days after such happy moment I was back to the 90, but thatnks tedster

I just checked and my very G-rated site has over 500 images out of about 2700 filtered out as unsafe (this despite hotlink protection). I wish there was a way to easily figure out which images these were. I wonder if renaming the filtered images would remove the filter.

I wonder how many of those whose pics are being filtered - for no good reason - have <frame breakout> scripts on their pages... ?

...

could be a hint

well now you ask, I checked a few sites.

oh cool.

the most legit, longest standing site which got about 15% of all its traffic from Image Search is now *completely* filtered out with moderate:ON. A site: search ONLY shows other domains.

... thanks for the heads up, although...
I don't think I have the time to track down the million and one reasons why this could be happening. There's no user-generated content on the site except for a single page which didn't have anything nasty added to it.

then again Image Search never ceased to amaze me how low quality it is.

I don't [want to] care about this.

...

ok so the news for you here is this: site that did nothing special, and which never had problems, recently got moved INTO the trouble zone

When did these changes occur? Is this issue related to the recent long tail search loss issue? Could they possibly be connected?

well I can say this they are still not finished with this image update, but i mostly just see positive things related to the filter which now show more images and still no bad images, so they have got a lot of images added to the filter on search and its quality.

Miamacs - make this hotliniking protection and wait it out then you can hope that sometime you will see more traffic or maybe they are working on a fix for this.

I have 3,820 filter off, and 165 with it on.
No adult images at all.

No wonder I was dropping 3k+ visitors a day.

I checked my other, less hotlinked site, and I have 577 images with the filter off and 576 with it on. :-)
