If I type the name of my site in google

If I buy another domain name and park it so it shows exactly the same site, and get links to that domain, will google also show my site when that is typed in- e.g. if it was www.joeexample123.com and someone typed joeexample123 would it come up as the top result?

the best way to do this would be to purchase your additional domain but dont "park it" have a server redirect set up to point all your traffic to the correct domain.

You don't want to post the same content on both domains, this will lead to duplicate content issues.

bigjoe4 - Make sure, as mack suggests, that it's a server redirect... and that it's what's called a "301" or "permanent redirect." Many registrars, if you ask them to set this up for you, will use something called "domain forwarding," which is generally a "302" redirect. This setup can lead to duplicate content problems. Here's an excellent discussion on the topic....

Make sure you do not see the same content under two different domains in the address bar. This is duplicate content, and can lead to linking confusion and a loss of control about which domain Google uses to display your site.
