I had a Google Page Rank of 2 for my wordpress blog based website with the following URL pattern.

http://www.example.com/postname

I was trying for some affiliate commissions by posting some post to promote their products and services, in the event one of the Affiliate webs site instructed me to change the above mentioned URL pattern to the archive way:

http://www.example.com/2008/05/09/postname

I assume after doing the above change in the URL, my Page Rank dropped from 2 to 0,

My query is, what was the cause for it, was it the pattern change of the URL?

Please advice.

[edit reason] please use example.com [/edit]

Do you have a redirect - 'moved permanently' (or something) from the old URL to the new? My guess is that Google might be thinking that all the URLs/pages it has already indexed of the form "http://www.example.com/postname" have suddenly gone/deleted? Like I say, only my guess.

This URL http://www.example.com/postname
is different from this http://www.example.com/2008/05/09/postname.

Obviously the PR will disappear till G reindexes these pages and assigns new PR.

So just wait and it might come back higher/lower/unchanged.
