We have an obscure page on our site that is ranking at the top of the search queries in WMT. It is a page with a photo that is getting used on lots of forums etc.

I have my website name in the photo as a watermark in hopes to discourage its use but that had not seemed to help an I do not know how to block hotlinking to just the one jpg.

We are an ecommerce site that that sells many different things. Will this page ranking at the top of the search queries hurt the site over all? The other 19 keywords and phrases for the site all come in in the top 10, but WMT shows most of the traffic going to this photo page.

I think you answered your own question with that report. It's extremely unlikely that you will develop ranking troubles because of the image hotlink.

If you want to learn the technical side of how to block hotlinking, I'd suggest checking out the forum that focuses on your particular server, Apache [webmasterworld.com] or IIS [webmasterworld.com].

Also, there is already a lot of technical discussion available here about hotlinking - you can find it through Site Search [webmasterworld.com]
