I am about to loose 4 x PR5 v.High trust links (from world news website) which is closing a part of its site at the end of the month... gutted

I am bracing myself for stormy times as I have convinced myself these 3 links have dragged a certain one of my sites up, which is less than 6 months old.

I fear the site is too young to take such a knock.
...I have my bucket and spade ready.

I anyone else about to loose a 'british' news website links?

Yes, it might hurt if you haven't yet developed a strong backlink profile. But sometimes I've been surprised when a "big" link vanishes and the hit to ranking isn't all that bad. At any rate, it's out of your hands, apparently, so just keep on plugging.

I wish. Most of my competitors have paid for theirs so they won't get removed. Google's paid link attack has stayed clear of newspaper's websites. Probably because they need them for their news search.

Offer the news site cash to put your link somewhere else. I doubt they'll turn it down.
