Redirects from the indexed urls are bad enough, but for the first time I have just observed Google "cached" links redirecting. Seems like G should be able to stop that from happening, redirects occuring in their own cache.

I've never seen a 301 cached. Googl normally doesn;t leave the 301 url in the index. But other kinds of redirects often are, especially javascript and meta refresh code. This includes framebreaker javascript. While I have seen other search engines use code that "breaks" the frame breaking, it seems to me that Google is being courteous to the webmaster by not going against their wishes on a particular url.
