How to get into Google alerts? Good traffic source

Do you use google alerts? I do and I get some good information. Any idea how Google chooses those articles everyday.

We have a good forum and another website syndicating our forum rss is getting into Google alerts. How can I add my sites to be a part of Google alerts?

Aji, that's a mystery to me, too. Certainly many sites get picked up for Alerts that are nowhere near the quality of an approved Google News site, for example.

Maybe someone else has a clue about this?

Certainly many sites get picked up for Alerts that are nowhere near the quality of an approved Google News site, for example.

It was very strange to see many sites getting into google alert which just sync technorati tag feeds, they have 0% original content/filtering, just plain technorati feed sync.
