Does "Enhanced Image Search" hurt or help traffic?

My site has many images, and when submitting my site map I opted to use "enhanced image search" which is located in the -> tools section of Google's Webmaster Tools.

Has anyone had experience with this feature either aiding or hurting traffic from images?

Thx for any comments.

We've seen some reports both ways here - but nothing definitive so far.

The most recent discussion where this topic came up is:

...and the results mentioned there were apparently good.

Thanks for the link. I'm worried that people will label my images something other than what they are, which will hurt image seach results. They are large pics that chew up bandwith and are well labeled.

Has anyone had people falsely label images away from what you want them to be? Shouldn't proper file names be enough?

Thx for any opinions.
