Top 5 ranking only from 1 machine - not logged in to Google Account

Hi all

My site is 5 months old. While I do update its content, and have quite a few very quality links to it, the site wasn't on top 50 for < a common single keyword >. Which basically makes sense.

Surpisingly today, I could see my site on top 5 for this keyword. I got the same SERPS on other searches I did from machines on the same IP.

I wasn't logged in to any google account while searching.

When I make searches from other IP's - I see my site on positions 20-30. Sometimes below.

My question:
How come I see my site in such extremely high positions on my machine?

I remind that this is a quite popular single word on which I compete here.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments.

Regards
Assaf

If you see this again, try dumping your Google cookies. I'm guessing you may have been logged in and closed the window without logging out. I've done it a couple times, and I try very hard never to do a Google Search while logged in to any Google account anywhere. So I know how easy a slip it is, because I am almost a maniac about this.

I did Signed Out (as I'm obsessive about that as well), and cleaned cookies, but the site is still there.

Which is good, but doesn't seem realistic.

It's possible that the different computers are getting routed to different data centers. See:

How Do I Know Which Google Center I am Looking At [webmasterworld.com]

If that's the case, it's a very positive sign about your rankings.
