First writing on WebmasterWorld about an issue on Google Search i can find clue of...
I'm actually managing the SEO for two sites in France, one in french version, the other in english. We are adding new pages or classifieds regularly, but not making any big modification in the architecture of the site since a few months...
But, since 2 weeks, the home page of the french version of the site does not appear in the results of Google anymore, even making a site: command. Every other pages of the french site is appearing, but never the french home.
I thought about duplicate content, but there's no real reason google is considering french and english version as the same, and everything was fine since years on this side. I've also considered some problem with Webmaster Tools, as the site was declared under 2 seperate account for a transition period, but I used this with many sites and never had a problem...
Do you have any idea of whatcan make an homepage alone disapear from google index?
Thanks for your help

That can be a disconcerting thing - but there's always a chance of technical trouble, either on your server or Google's - and we should always remember that the site: operator is just a reporting function. It can have bugs that are not reflective of the search results.
1. Are you getting any Google traffic to your Home Page at present?
2. Do you have a Webmaster Tools account set up - and if so, does it describe any spidering issues?
3. Is your Home Page for the French version on its own domain?
4. If you do a regular search for just your domain name, is your Home Page in the results?
5. What do you see for an allinurl: search?
