I do the SEO and manage the sites I do for usually a minimum of 6 months and as long as a year for some so I definitely need to set up sitemaps for each site and monitor / manage them.
I am mostly building sites for < clients who > are not into computers at all so they could care less about having the account in their own name to manage.
Up to now I have been opening an account for each site. But it is a real pain when there are lots of sites involved.
I have my own site account for my own websites and I wouldn't dare add others sites to that. No reason in mind, I just don't think that is a smart move.
Anybody run many or multiple sites from one webmaster account?
Thanks, Joe

Most clients aren't bothered about the data so I don't need to worry about confidentiality.
My view is that as long as you are not doing anything like
- duplicate sites in the same niche, or
- dodgy links via a network of sites
then don't worry about Google knowing that you run a number of sites and what these are. I don't really mind Google knowing what I'm doing because I don't think I'm crossing the line.
The biggest problem is that I can't set the page site myself, so I have to do a lot of jumping back and forth between pages, (and everytime you go back, you start over at the first page again!) which is a real pain and really slows me down, and I've made numerous suggestions that Google let ME set the page to display all or whatever, but do they listen? no....
