Link to new site shows in results, but not the site itself

I built a new site. To get google to spider and rank it, I linked to this site from the homepage of a completely different site of mine.

Now when I search for < the new domain >, I am getting the text link on the linking site, but I am not getting the site itself.

Why would google show me the text link on the unrelated domain but not the domain itself in the search result for the domain?

completely different site

here we go, seems like a trust issue, this will probably be over in a few months.

The new site is an "add-on" site, so it shares the same IP with another domain site. Could that be an issue?

The big issue is probably how "new" the site is. It can take a while for Google to extend minimal trust to a site. Try studying some of the threads in the Hot Topics area [webmasterworld.com], which is always pinned to the top of this forum's index page.

Here are two that hold information you may need:

The Google Sandbox [webmasterworld.com] - building trust to get beyond the filters

Good Early Rankings [webmasterworld.com] - but they disappear
