I have noticed that the numbers of indexed URLs from the sitemaps of my main site have been steadily reduced in the last two days. The reduction rate is about 5% per day. This drop takes place in all sub-directories and also shows on the results of a site command search. However, it seems that the fully indexed pages are not affected. Does anyone experience this?
In my niche sites tend to be intraspective, few outbound links and none to direct competitor sites. One site that is doing much better than expected is at #1 for the top term with PR2 and poor quality off theme inbounds but is the only site in the results that focuses entirely on outbound links to directly on-theme sites.
The last time I saw this type of SERP was immediately post Florida when directories did far better than they should have.

Data Centers Entertainment Time :-)
Here are two DCs. Which serps you like most?
[72.14.207.104...]
[64.233.183.104...]
[72.14.207.104...] is marginally better for us but if I look at them as a user the other is probably better right at the top.

So I guess the folks at Google Search Quality Team are doing minor tweaking at the moment.
