Results point to different sections each day?

Does Google ever seem to return results pointing to different sections of a site, from one day to another?

Let's say on my proverbial widget site, I have a bunch of pages on red widgets, a bunch on green, and a bunch on blue. It seems that one day, the majority of the Google searches on my stats are related to red widgets. The next day, the majority seem to be related to blue widgets. They always seem to vary.

It's a fairly new site (since October of last year) with not a lot of traffic (about 200-300 pages a day) so maybe its just too small to tell.
Or maybe all the red widget people just decide to do searches on the same day!

Just wondering if anone else noticed this. Thanks!

This kind of volatility is definitely more common with a new site. But it wouldn't hurt to look at exactly which search terms are sending traffic to which pages. There might be some way that you can clarify the releveance signals if it seems to be mapped poorly.
