Hello I am experiencing some major problems with one of my websites, It has been positioned in the 80 - 70's for a very competitive word but lately I have changed the whole website and since resubmitting it the rankings have dropped and gained on a weekly basis.
Any ideas why this could happen?

Google keeps on changing the page it likes for the term. Is there any way of settling Google on a particular page that we want it to show for a particular word (other than send a bazillion links to it)?

I have also been looking at why the website has never ranked higher than 30, how much would correct hosting count in matters like this?

I am also experiencing problems here in the uk searches I am ranking but in the uk p[ages on I am nowhere to be seen. Again regarding this I have my doubts on the hosting facility.

Has anyone else experienced this?
if so how was it solved?

There are many possibilities that could be affecting your situation, not the least of them is recently changing the website. My first suggestion would be to set up a Webmaster Tools account and study the feedback it provides to you. And second, you might check out this classc post from Brett Tabke:

Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone [webmasterworld.com]

The competitiveness of many query terms does not take "a bazillion" links to succeed, but it certainly does take some links, and the more substantial and balanced the backlink profile, the more you have a chance to succeed.

experienced:
Google's organic search does not choose Adsense sites for any special penalties, filters, or for that matter, any special high rankings rankings either. How a site ranks or gets penalized has no relationship to whether they run Adnsense.

The information about Webmaster Tools is here: [google.com...]
The sign-up page is: [google.com...]
