Is there any firm evidence that Tradedoubler or any other affliate ads do have a negative impact on a site's rank in Google?

Google has made it clear in the past that it has no objection to affiliate links per se, but "thin affiliate" sites or pages are in its gunsights.

I do, seems like an appropriate use of nofollow.
