Domain dropping in and out on a weekly basis

Hey Guys,

I have a Domain that I am having an issue with.

The Domain is over 3 years old, but has only been used for the last 6 months. The company had a .ie domain before, which had some great Black hat SEO work done on it, loads of keyword stuffing and things like that.

The domain is dropping in and out of the SERPS on a weekly basis for the product keyword I want to appear for, (the keyword is actually a brand product and not a term used in the industry). The domain when first used was working really well, but this was only for a month or so, then it has been dropping in and out since.

At the moment the old .ie domain is on a redirect into the .co.uk domain, would you think this is a problem?

The domain drops in and out of the SERPS on a weekly basis, it never appears higher than 9th on page one, there are lots of site selling this product - Amazon, Ciao etc that appear above this domain.

I have been adding a small amount of back links into the site, a few a week.

Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening?

Usually the reason for this is that you don't have enough incoming links. There are complicating factors in your case but i would start there.
