Hi,
my site is being redesigned whch will take a month. During ths time i plan to write about 1000 pages of content for it, all good and unique. I have two questions, really appreciate help on this:-

1) is it ok to add all the pages at once or better to drip feed them into the site?

2) what is the best editor to use to write the content, ie notepad, word etc i hear word adds code to its content?

Thanks in advance

Robert

1,000 new urls is not an overload for Google - I'd say release them all at once. You're also more likely to build a good link architecture that way.

Definitely avoid using MS Word - it adds in all kinds of non-standard code that can give you trouble if you copy/paste.

Notepad is pretty basic and limited, although you can get by with it. There are several better text editors out there, even at the level of plain text. I prefer a dedicated html editor, which gives me a lot of help by color coding the tags and so on. I use Homesite, but it may even be overkill. There are many others. we've got a forum dedicated to the discussion of editing programs: WYSIWYG and Text Code Editors [webmasterworld.com] A good place to have an in-depth discussion, and look through existing threads.
