Google crawl not finding http://www.example.com/index

Sitemap has http://www.example.com/index in but google doesnt find

Sitemap has http://www.example.com/index in but google doesnt find it.

Yet it is my homepage and I know google indexes it as Sitemap has http://www.example.com/

do I need to worry?

Hi mandu, and welcome to WebmasterWorld.

You should know that www.example.com/index.html and www.example.com/ are different urls for the same page, and would therefore present duplicate content to Google.

Check the Hot Topics area [webmasterworld.com], which is always pinned to the top of this forum's index page, for reference threads on duplicate content, and particularly for this thread....
