Hi All,

I have a problem with my site. It got hacked and basically someone put 40k worth of spam links onto my website. I did not notice b/c this was a static site and the links were placed in a hidden DIV.

Unfortunately my HOME PAGE has disappeared from the google index.

All my other pages see fine. So what should i expect in terms of my pages dropping out?

This is a 4 year old domain with a lot of deep links. It's a reputable site and i think google would know that. How do i intrepret the fact that only the index page seems to be affect for now?

Unfortunately since it is the index page that is messed up i am worried that loss of pagerank or other types of indirect penalties will eventually impact my site. Is that the likely scenario or is it possible for my website to chum along even though my index page has essentially been deleted from the index?

Do i need to request a re-inclusion request? should i wait for the site to reappear, how long should i wait?

Hello, here is a small checklist that might help:

Remove any and all injected / hacked elements inclduing iframes, and triple check they are gone

Check that your website is not listed at Stopbadware.org

If it is, submit a reinclusion request there first and explaion that you got hacked and have since removed the issue. Get into detail about what was placed in your code.

Then submit a reinclusion request to Google.com

If the hack was the reason the site was removed or labelled, Google generally acts on it fairly quickly after the site is off the blacklist at Stopbadware.org
