Google Webmaster Tools URL Removal

Can't they make URL/Page removal easier?

Ok, so under Webmaster Tools >> Not Found, you will find a list of pages that are not found/404 if you have them. Why can’t they simply integrate the URL removal (radio button/check box) right there? Why do you have to download that table, strip the base domain out, and then go through them one-by-one pasting into the URL removal tool?

How do you handle the "Not Found" pages where someone has screwed up a link to your site and has it within quotes, % signs, or other URL coding mistakes?
I have found quite a few in Not Found that are enclosed within quotes, % signs, or such. You cannot enter these into the URL removal tool since you cannot insert the base url/domain? So these show up in your error logs and Google keeps trying to crawl these month after month.

They need to simply implement a removal checkbox in the row of each "Not Found" url (with a "select all" at top) on the Webmaster Tools >> Not Found page(s) and then remove them from the index and stop trying to crawl them once and for all. I cannot understand why this has not been done a long time ago...

Interesting idea - it might make things easier in some situations. I don't worry mauch about the 404 report, except to make sure I'm not actively creating any of the bad urls. I've never used the URL removal tool for cases of someone else's typo. Seems to me like a way of giving up my own time management, and I take time managment very seriously.
