Same here. I would like to know, too. Not so sure but I think they will be indexed again some time later.

I haven't had a site banned, but I do know of people who have cleaned their sites up, submitted a reinclusion request and got back into Google that way.
Have you tried this?

OK. But what if I don't submit a reinclusion request?

If the site does not meet guidelines, then the ban might last "forever."
Google says the AddURL page is for submitting your website, and won't help if you've been truly banned. In fact, it won't really get your site included in the index if there are no links pointing to it. Essentially, it seems that the AddURL form simply stimulates a crawl of the URL by Googlebot. I have found it can be useful for getting pages that have fallen out of the index (that are not otherwise penalized) re-crawled and subsequently reincluded.

to answer your question I heard about a year, but it may vary depending on the number of backlinks you get during that time!
but again Im not sure and only remember hearing about it a while ago

About 2.5 years ago, we got banned after what apparently was an algorithm change that affected something we had unwittingly been doing for many years.
It took 6 months to get back in and another 6 months to have any decent ranking.
