Can anyone let me know whether making a complete change in all the web pages of a site would make an impact on the google ranking?

If i re-create all my pages from the scratch and then upload it. So i would like to know whether this act will boost up my ranking or else i need to suffer with the loss of some rank?

Regards,

Shakeel

Hi shakeel, and welcome to the forums,

What you ask is a very broad question. Are you talking, eg, about reorganizing your site and changing your urls as well as your content on your pages... or are you simply going to change content on existing pages, but leave site structure and urls as they are?

Also, do you have any rankings or inbound links now that are worth preserving?

If you're going to change your page urls and site structure, you will need to check for inbound links, and preserve those links to deeper pages, using 301 permanent redirects.

Take a look at this discussion, which is posted in the Hot Topics section pinned at the top of the Google Search forum home page....

Shakeel if your website is not ranked by G because it has been banned or is under penalty you would be better off with a new domain.

If you are not being ranked because you have no links then make all the changes that you want without worry (your pages simply do not exist in the index so Google has no way to compare if there has been a change) and then work on link building.
