Sitelinks Showing In Google Webmaster Tools

Looks as though Google is finally showing us which pages they would give us less well known sites "sitelinks" for in Webmaster Tools....

(sitelinks - the extra links you get if your the authority for a certain term or trademark)

I like this - you even get to see what the Google algo will display IF the domain gets sitelinks, even though it doesn't have any currently. And you can veto anything that looks crtazy as well, ahead of time.

It takes about 4-6 weeks before a new link appears once you veto an existing link.

I'd love the ability to select which sitelinks should appear, but I guess that's like saying I'd love to select which keywords my site appears for.

Looks neat. Not every site has them showing in webmaster tools, but it is useful that you can block ones that you don't want to be shown.

One question about sitelinks and sorry if this has been already discussed..
Since yesterday google is showing sitelinks in my GWT account. However no sitelinks appear in the serp. It is just a matter of time or it is not guarantee that google wil ever display sitelinks for my site?

Sitelinks could be appearing for words that you’re not considering.

They usually only appear for your company name.

They usually only appear for your company name.

They appear for phrases on which your site is dominant. Since it's most likely that you'd dominate on searches for your company name, that's where you'd most expect to see them... but that's definitely not the only possibility.

I have been searching all possible ways..still no sitelink on regular SERPs. My question again: once google show sitelinks on GWT is there some "guarantee" they also propagate on SERPs?

And if you're not seeing Sitelinks for a search on your domain name right now, then it's not very likely that they will currently be showing on some other search

same here: I got "Current Sitelinks" and all in G tools, but not showing. is EVERYONE getting them on Webmaster Tools but only select few on search?

For the record, I was not seeing them a few days /or weeks back.

same here - showing 8 Sitelinks in WMT - on Serps nothing :(
and believe me - i searched for all possible phrases - also 3keyword kombos - I NEED INFOS

if you aren't showing sitelinks for a search on your company name keyword "Example" you should try searching for your domain keyword "example.com".

it looks like we go excited for no reason by G; most of us don't "deserve" the sitelinks, but they're showing them anyway.

out doorman: how old is your site? Would you say it is linked by well known sites/authoritative ones? I am trying to see why some have them live, some generated only and somenot even generated by Google. Be honest ;)

i can call my Site Authority - 'cause i have a lot of real good Links without any Reziproke Links - only One Way links and only naturaly grown - that means every month 1 or 2 links - some month nothing - i tried all Keyword phrases - Domainname.com and so on - every little Searchphrases also i used the Logfiles and tried to figure out if some User clicked on that so - that i can get it out of the lOGFILES - but nothing - i hope i will get them - 'cause i like it really - i hope we can found somthing in common...

I have two niche sites: #1 was launched in aug 2006, #2 was launched in may 2007.

#1 has inbound links from 3 fairly authoritative sites (within this niche) and 2 authoritative (unrelated) sites. Also it has inbound links from a couple of libraries plus indbounds from several less important sites and a couple of unrelated directories.

Also it is ranked #1 for the main keyword in Google, Yahoo and MSN SERPs.

#2 has an inbound link from my #1 site plus an inbound link from an unrelated authoritative site/directory. Also it has inbounds from Wikipedia (probably not any direct link value because of the use of rel="nofollow") and some less important sites and a couple of unrelated directories.

Additional info: My two websites are probably what most people here would refer to as small sites: #1 has approx. 65 urls indexed, #2 has 36 urls indexed (Google and Yahoo SERPs.).

Both sites are non-english and non-commercial websites in a small, but still growing niche area on the web -- and traffic is counted in hundreds, not thousands or millions, unique visitors per month.

Maybe small sites and small niches are not worthy of sitelinks?
