Are Yahoo Groups Important to Google Rankings?

Hello,

I just removed my yahoo group page that was referring to my website. It had only 60 members and the past year messages were only spam.

Do you think my ranking on Google will be affected by removing the Yahoo Group?

I am ranking in the top 10 in almost all of my important keywords!

My Yahoo Group was not ranked in Google in those keywords.

It was showing if you searched with my domain name in Google, it was number 3.

I find it unlikely that those links would be all that important for any major keywords -- but every individual case, every website and every keyword can be different. So you are about to learn whether or not those links were important to any of your rankings, but I'd say you can probably have little concern if your backlink profile is rather well developed.
