Has Google.de its own Algo?

What works in other google.xx doesn't work in google.de

I think that google.de has "filters" or an algo that is different from google.com or other google local domains.

I noted that is more difficult to rank fine in google.de than in any other google local domain.
For example we have a site in several languages ( English, Spanish, French and German language).

The English section ranks fine in Google.com and in any google local domain searching with English phrases.

The Spanish section ranks fine in Google.com or any other Google local domain including google.es (google.es having the parameter hl=es ) serching for Spanish phrases.

etc.

The German section doesn't rank fine in Google.de.
It ranks fine, searching with German phrases, in any Goggle local domain, including google.com but not in google.de!
Just a little bit better in google.ch .....

I do not use any spam techniques.
We just submitted the site to the most relevant German directories; the site has some natural links on German sites.

Everything regarding the German site ( in the structure, metatag) is similar to the Spanish or english or french version, but in German language.

I can not understand why we do not rank in google.de.
The pages are cached and indexed, but we do not rank at all! It seems like a penalization, but I don't know the kind of penalization...

A search for "geotargeting" will have a lot of answers

I know everything about it!
BUT following the suggestions about geotargeting, everything works fine for any location excluded google.de.
What works for all other locations seems working a lot less for google.de.
This is the reason for my question...

Thank you.

Which kind of backlinks? There are tons of German directories, but usually only their home page has a sort of Page Rank.
Subdirectory pages usually are grey bar....
I suspect that links from those directories could only add "penalization"....

How does your French version rank in google.fr (with the language set to French)?

Google.de has mainly eBay results and the rest is filled up with Amazon results, that's it.

The French version ranks very fine, with two-keyword phrases too.

I have a theory regarding Google.de.

1) No problem if you have a .de domain

2) If you have not a .de domain you should have a site structure in this way:

2.1 using sub.domain: for ex. de.mysite.xx
2.1 using a site structure like:

mysite.com/de/germanpageshere.html

having all the German pages in the third level

Google indexes pages, but in Google.de the proximity of the pages in different languages then the main page plays its role. Give "distance" from the main index to the German pages......
