I recently decided to start selling various models of widgets on my site. The widgets are all the same brand name, but are for different models of end-use widgets.

For example, one page is titled "Acme widgets for Somecompany Model XYZ."

Each page is devoted to a single different model of widget. But the Acme name and the Somecompany name appear in the title as well as the body. And, since the models of widgets are somewhat similar, the specifications are similar in many respects. On top of that, I have the "List price: $#*$! Our Price: $YYY" line, as well as the sentence about return policies.

I ran a page similarity report for two different model pages, and they were 80% similar, even though I've varied descriptions and specifications as much as possible.

In your opinion, will this trigger a duplicate content penalty, or will Google be able to see what's really going on?

How many different models are there?

Marcia, for Somecompany, there's 26 different models. There's probably five or six different Acme widgets that have specifications that are similar.

For the other products I plan to add to my site, the specifications and descriptions would not be as similar.
