Keyword search on Google

How long do I wait for quality results before I give up?

I have a question.

I have a quality website will good content and sufficient inbound links etc...

I get decent traffic from low hanging fruit keywords.

However its been about a bit over year now since my site launched and still my main keywords do not show up in the top 1000 when I do a google search for it.

I am wondering. Is this normal? How long should one wait before thinking about changing strategy? What should I be doing to try and improve on this?

Thanks!

it would all depend on the competitiveness of the phrases you are trying to target. the more competitive it is the harder it is going to be to get good ranking results.

just keep trying to get keyword driven anchor links to your site and play the waiting game.

some people have achieved great results in a short time period while it has taken other years to get the same.

its normal if your targgeting money terms..if you optimised for those terms...if you have non-organic links for those terms....

however post BD it seems if you spam OVER a threshold you will do better than under it..by that i mean you can pickup 1000's of links oevr night and rank like a dream..try the same with 100 and you actually seem more likely to hit a filter..

weird!
