Should I Update Sitemap after Implementing URL Rewrites?

We are redesigning our site and now have a new structure with new URL's ... I have installed ISAPI REWRITE to produce 301's when a robot or person tries an old site link... my question is if I should leave my sitemap in place so the robots can still find the old links for a while and therefore get the 301 and transfer the page rank...OR do I just go ahead and create a new sitemap?

I would say definitely create the new sitemap now. If Google has ever spidered those old URLs, then they will continue to spider them anyway. Googlebot has a very long memory!

And if any of those old URL were never spidered, then this is no time to complicate the matter.
