Is page rank 2 bad

Google PR ranking of 2 is a Google slam

somebody said to me Google PR ranking of 2 is a Google slam and that you will be removed from the index after 6 months

is this correct?

No. It's just not a very high ranking but it doesn't preclude the page being served up if everything ekse is right. I have several (deservedly) PR2 pages that get a few referrals a month.

Good practice, good content, inbound links and you'll climb slowly.

PR 2 isn't good if your site has a substantial number of pages. You may see Google repeatedly index and de-index pages without seeing many of the pages stick.

I've had a number of PR 2 pages sitting in google's index for some time. They don't have many links, hence the pr of 2, and they aren't likely to garner many, if any, new links. While the pages are not important to the masses, the pages are important to some, so the pages remain.

PR2 is not bad, I have a lot of pages that rank in the top 10 for their keywords that are PR1,PR2,PR3

I do not really pay attention to page rank now anyways. I have pages that rank in top 10 serps that do not even have backlinks.

I concentrate on good content and valid html now. Works for me....

be aware that you dont start on a blind link campaign otherwise PR2 may take you to be out of Google

PR2 on main page of a site is not bad, it's just a beginning. Many sites I made started with PR2, then climbed higher. It's true that if main page is PR2, Googlebot isn't too fast with picking up deeper pages. But it's a normal course of events that a site has small PR in the beginning.

And even if your site is old as has high PR on main page, there will always be deeper pages with PR3, PR2 and lower. It's absolutely normal.

Do you really think that valid code is important? cnn.com can't validate, microsoft.com can't validate, an dI could go on forever listing top sites which doesn't seems to care about HTML validation.

And if the rule "design for your users, not for search engines" is valid, then we can say that if browser can show it, then th code is good.
