I heard that google hates this type of linking or hates sites linked to blog?
How far is this true?
Secondly can i post my products to sell in that blog?
Please guide me for the same.
Thank You
Selling products from a blog is not standard practice at all -- not what blogs are usually all about. Still I suppose you can do whatever you want. It's your site.
I'd suggest you study this Google Search forum and others here for a while. I think you will pick up a whole new flavor about what it takes to get good results on Google. A good thread to start:
Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone [webmasterworld.com]
If I do a keyword search for my domain name, my blog is listed about number 6. The main site is listed at 1.
I often put general topic of interest posts on the blog, but I also use it to promote the main site, in as much as I will write a post about lets say email scams, or a welcome note about a valued customer.
Si, IMO a blog can be useful in many ways.As to whether the link from one to the other has any value, I don't really care, apart from the fact that readers can go from one site to the other.
Pretty painful and serious work.
How can i market my blog? or how can i get good ranking in google and other SEs.Which are types of blog marketing.
Same as for any other website. In particular, write great and unique content and get inbound links.
Please help me out. I have already posted more 30 posts in my blog but still it doesnt shows any ranking.
It can take time - don't expect large volumes of traffic for the first 6 - 12 months.
Secondly can i post my products to sell in that blog?
There is no technical reason why you can't, but then of course it's no longer a blog, unless the content of it directly relates to your sales of your products.

Is your blog hosted on your web site, or are you using a blog hosting service?
We are thinking of adding a blog to our site, but I theorize that we might get better results by having it on our server instead of the blog software company enjoying all that free traffic and links to their server.
For example, if your site is example.com, I would think it would be better to have your blog on your server as www.example.com/blog
as opposed to www.BlogServiceRPovder.com/yourblog
Anyone agree? Disagree? Don't care?

Hosting your blog on your own hosting is much better than hosting it on free blog hosts...although google gives few extra points to blogspot. The good thing with blogspot is that you can publish your blog on your own hosting....
I think the best thing would be to get blog's own domain and own hosting...on that way it'll look like a real complex website and spiders will love it.
As for the main question: "Is Linking to Blog Harmful?" , I myself tell you from my own experience that it is not harmful by any means...even it can help sometimes. Linking from blog to "real site" is very helpful! That's based on my experience.
