For a long time, I held a top 10 position for the word widget. Sometimes it drops down to result #14 or 15 but it bounces up back to the top ten.

Then last night it dropped down to number 11 BUT Google added an address to the result. This address has nothing to do with me or my search term. It seems totally random. Any ideas?

This can't be just a cooincidence - I saw a bad local map result like this just two days ago. It was not related to one of my sites, I was just using Google like any end user.

It's got to a a bug on their end. I'd suggest doing the search again and then click on the link at the very bottom that says "Dissatisfied? Help us improve" to report the issue.

Actually, I've seen this for a number of results including my own. I think they tried to match results to local info and some of the wires got crossed.

I fixed my sites adding the correct info in Google's local search. It requires a confirmation that you are the actual business owner. After submitting your info they mail you a postcard or call your business phone number. It takes a couple of weeks to sort it out.
