Strange Googlebot Patterns

Googlebot crawl is usually pretty steady, but I'm seeing some strange patterns recently where bot traffic is regular and then drops off for a few days and then is back to normal. And Adsbot numbers seem to drop in concert. Is anyone else seeing strange bot patterns with this update?

I often see hills and valleys in googlebot crawling on sites that are not a major web presence. I've always assumed that they balance crawling cycles with other computational needs. Can't say that recent days look all that different for the sites I watch.

Anone else seeing a significant change?

Since 10/20 I see significant lows (up to -40% compared to 30 day average) as well as normal days.
Unusual days:
10/20 - 10/22
10/25
10/27
10/30
At these days Googlebot traffic stopped around noon pacific time.

Saw a definite drop 10/20 - 10/23 here as well. Maybe a technical issue at the Plex or a slowdown during an update?

Numbers were back up to normal on 10/27 and the normal ebb-and-flow seems to be happening again, but I'll know more in a few days. Thanks for sharing dates.
